The software is available in three options with varying tiers of features, starting at $60. “With new capabilities like Color Grading, Three- and Four-Point Editing, and dynamic Split Screen with Keyframes, Pinnacle Studio Ultimate is the ideal choice for anyone striving to create projects that replicate the polish and creativity of professional productions.” “With the latest version, we’re pushing this even further with a pro-inspired feature set that’s ideal for the video editing enthusiast who wants to do more,” Michel Yavercovski, senior director for product management for Pinnacle, said in a press release. The update also integrates the new features from the 21.5 mid-version update, which included selective color and transition effects that use two similar objects or colors in the clips to create less jarring transitions. The update also includes updates to Pinnacle MyDVD and new effects from NewBlueFX. The previously added 360 video support now includes the tiny planet and rabbit hole views to create a spherical panorama or reversed spherical panorama. In a demonstration, the new split-frame keyframe tools were used to create a magnifying glass effect over the original video. Splitscreen options, for example, now have keyframes that allow editors more control when working with multiple clips on the screen at once, including enhanced options for transitions and movement. The option syncs the different sources, including audio.Īdditional updates expand previously added features. The process allows users to place flags at the exact point of the transitions when adding a clip at the end or in the middle of the existing timeline.Ī new MultiCam Capture Lite option allows the software to capture a screen share while simultaneously filming from the webcam, a process popular with creating software tutorials. The addition of three- and four-point editing helps editors mix clips more precisely. The colors tools also include color wheels, LUTs, waveform scope and others. The new color tools also allow for color grading to match different clips. The HSL tools (hue, saturation, luminance) allow for control over each color channel to make specific colors pop, to shift a specific color to alter a mood, or to simply correct colors that didn’t record accurately. The company is aiming to keep the simple interface while adding more high-end features in the latest version with features typically found in those pro-grade options.Ĭolor grading opens up a suite of new editing tools to fine-tune the video’s color. This week, Corel announced Pinnacle Studio 22, an update that brings advanced features like color grading and three and four point editing.Ĭorel says that Pinnacle is designed for the users that want more than a basic video editor but without the complexities or expense of a pro-grade platform. Fitbit Versa 3Ĭorel’s Pinnacle Studio video editor sits in the gap between consumer editing software and the professional options - and Corel just nudged the software even more towards that pro end.

sephiroth being the final boss is pretty anticlimatic. so far it feels like the story is going bit too much in the direction of fan service and kingdom hearts convoluted ness. overall its fine for a reimagining but parts like the shinra massacre being watered down (killing the original mood) and zack somehow existing in this new timeline (in intergrade so ive heard) makes me a bit nervous about the direction they are going in. They started off pretty good and i did them but about halfway thru i stopped doing them as they ended being a bit too fetch quest heavy lots of unique dialogue that helps the world feel lived in. the jazz bar tracks of the songs are greatįantastic. the soundtrack can feel a bit off with the whole cyberpunk thing going while orchestrated music plays. Pretty good but needed more electronic sounds. i played thru most of the game on normal until i decided to just drop it down to easy for sephiroth because i just kinda wanted to move on to ghost of tsushima. i liked it overall but feel like part 2 could use a rebalance. there were times when i couldnt really do much because my atb was low but if i walked up to the enemy id get killed pretty easily. the atb could have used a bit more speed for everyone but tifa. The balance kinda feels weird with how easy it is to get all your health chopped off near the end. dodge is kinda useless on most characters and even then it still feels like its range is pretty bad on the characters where it actualy works. Resident Evil 4’s Ganado village, for example, seems slightly less sophisticated here than it was 12 years ago on the Gamecube. Spaces, too, might have been constructed differently. It goes without saying that any design in that space demands at least the basics as well as a hook to reel players in – the zombie jammer could have been that under different circumstances, and perhaps was vying for that. If Umbrella Corps was intended more for a multiplayer-only sentiment in mind, it would have required more to do as a multiplayer game. If the developers were trying to appeal for the Counter-Strike crowd – or even the Operation Raccoon City one, if they exist – the game would need to slow down or at least give some weight to how the various design components fit together as checks and balances. These are solutions in search of problems. Even allowing players to play without as much UI clutter all over the screen, as is is shown in the game’s trailers, wouldn’t hurt. The same goes double for using a zombie as a human shield, another idea with some conceptual promise. A cover system is completely unneeded in tiny arenas there’s also no reason to be cautious outside of the one-life round mode, since player speed clips at ridiculous pace even when prone. Reviews have also criticized the game for having only two types of multiplayer, period, which I guess kind of explains the inspiration for one of them being a Counter-Strike-esque mode where you’re given one life per round – this being despite the game’s ludicrous speed and likelihood of dying within seconds of your first spawn in.īy the same token, entire features don’t seem to fit. Resident Evil Umbrella Corps was an attempt by Capcom to go at the franchise from a different angle, by choosing a first person perspective and also be continuing the game type followed by Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. The execution is a mess, with no real focal point probably the most interesting concept, the zombie jammer, makes you undetectable by zombies even if a rival player breaks yours, which can happen since the crux of the game is inexplicably human-on-human combat, you’re much more likely to die by hands (while still running past zombies) in multiplayer matches. Not only that, the total number of non-unique players on the game are 21,177 so far, and in the complete one week of its release, the average daily low reached by the game was merely 5 players while even the average daily high was 34 players. Right after the launch of the game, its player count on Steam dropped to only a couple of hundred players, and if you thought that was unexpected, the game now has below 100 current players on average – according to Githyp, a data collection and analysis website.Īccording to them, the highest number of concurrent players that Resident Evil Umbrella Corps was able to get was only 419, and at the time of writing it only has 69 current players. While it was expected that a first person shooter take on the series would be a freshi thing to do for the fans, it was clearly not liked by many. The game was released this month on June 21, but has performed very dismally. This was followed shortly by the official reveal of the game in mid September, as a first person shooter title. We first heard of Resident Evil Umbrella Corps in July last year when a trademark owned by Capcom was spotted. It shows you how to maximize the use of all the muscles in your body. But at least it sticks to the action and keeps the running time short. Instead, what we’re left with is something that tries to please two very different audiences, but will probably annoy both. Were the whole thing a Chinese enterprise, without trying to appeal to a Western audience too, it could have embraced the OTT Chinese style more and it would have worked much better. This is a story told in broad brushstrokes, and it suffers from the clash of Chinese and Hollywood storytelling methods. Attempts at humour are forced and embarrassing and the only reason Willem Dafoe is there at all is to explain why some of the Chinese characters speak English. Matt Damon, normally known for his integrity, seems like he’s reading all of his dialogue from massive placards. The CGI is impressive, the Great Wall has all manner of fun defences (ranging from the practical to the ridiculous), and the sets and costumes are gorgeous.īut while the film might look good, it’s basically a disaster. Thanks to director Zhang Yimou, the film looks incredible. And one of the commanders of those corps is – gasp! – a woman! Luckily Commander Lin (Jing Tian) is genuinely there for her military prowess rather than to be a love interest for the male, western lead. The Great Wall is being defended by a Power Rangers-esque army, colour-coded by their special skills. The film has to be commended for leaping straight into the action, and within 15 minutes you’re watching an extended and visually impressive siege (this is the most expensive Chinese movie ever made). Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal are a couple of European mercenaries on the hunt for gunpowder when they stumble across the Great Wall under attack from the lizards. But, as this film would have us believe, they weren’t keeping out northern invaders – they were defending the world from a race of monstrous lizards. While we medieval Europeans were still warding off the common cold by wearing chicken feet on a necklace, China had built The Great Wall. |
